Headquartered in Guatemala, we are a business unit part of www.disagro.com. Sacos Agroindustriales, more commonly known as Sacos, was founded in 1986 and since inception it has been manufacturing and marketing world-class flexible packaging solutions. We supply products for industrial, agricultural and retail applications. Our aim is to better safeguard our clients’ products and improve our customers’ image through our packaging. The constant search for improvement in our processes, the usage of high quality raw materials and state of the art machinery, and delivery of excellent customer service has allowed us to maintain a leading position in the industry in Central American and the Caribbean. With a current installed capacity of more than 200 million small bags, we are the largest company in Central America and the Caribbean in the manufacturing of woven polypropylene small bags. We commercialize our products to more than 10 markets, including North America, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Our history

The company is founded in 1986 under the name of Sacos Agícolas, aiming to supply its parent company Disagro with woven polypropylene bags. Sacos quickly evolves from an in-house supplier of fertilizer bags to a market leader supplying pp woven bag
1996

1996

In 1996 Sacos Agrícolas is granted an exclusive license to produce and commercialize woven polypropylene laminated valved bags with proprietary AD-Star technology for Central America, becoming the 4th company in the world and first in Latin America
1998

1998

With the strategic merger between Sacos Agrícolas and Sacotex, a local competitor, in 1998, Sacos Agroindustriales is reborn. This same year Sacos diversifies into the PET bottle blowing business
2001-2003

2001-2003

The regional expansion is consolidated through the incorporation of Sacos Agroindustriales in Honduras, and the purchase of Rafytica in Costa Rica and Macsa in Nicaragua. During this same period ISO 9001 certification is achieved.

2009

Our logistics department is formed for the proper coordination & planning of plant production, aiming to improve customer service. This department integrates importation and exportation logistics, supply & demand planning, and distribution logistics.
2011-2013

2011-2013

From 2011-2013 the company continues its diversification & new production lines are installed, such as injection blow-molding machinery, high definition BOPP printing machinery, & a state in the art german manufactured co-extrusion polyethylene line.
2015-2016

2015-2016

Live output of SAP R3 in Guatemala as the company’s main ERP is implemented.

Food Safety System Certification FSSC 22000 is achieved.

A flexographic state of the art BOBST printer for high photographic quality printing is put into operation.
